Dustin’s personal mission statement can be summed up into a few words: improve lives, lead and inspire others. He has a special talent for vividly envisioning the future and turning his dreams into a reality—a talent he enthusiastically applies to his clients’ plans.
A couple years after graduating from LSU in 2002, Dustin began his chosen career as a financial advisor with A.G. Edwards. In recognition of his personal and professional achievements, Dustin was invited to join his father’s financial planning practice.
It was his father, Glenn, who Dustin credits for teaching him integrity, accountability, and customer service; endearing qualities that have enabled Dustin to build trust and long-term relationships with his clients, who consist primarily of retired/pre-retiree individuals, professional millenials and family business owners.
In 2006, Dustin earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, a designation that is awarded only to those individuals who complete a rigorous course of study and who dedicate themselves to maintain their technical competency and who agree to abide by a strict code of ethics. Dustin’s Philosophy & Interests
Dustin thrives on seeing plans come together and helping people to live a full life. He believes action leads to performance and that anything can be accomplished when there’s a cohesive plan and a willingness to get the job done.
His interests include reading and studying the world’s ancient wisdom and philosophy, which he believes holds a lot of life’s hidden secrets. He is entrepreneurial at heart and believes we should all try to make our mark on the world. Through Toujours Planning and the Worth It podcast, one of his main goals is to facilitate positive changes and updates to the financial industry for the next generation.
Together with his lovely wife Lauren, a registered dietitian and excellent cook from Mansura, LA, and their toddler daughter Mireille, Dustin likes to stay active both physically and mentally, whether it’s taking leisurely bike rides to the lakefront, traveling to exciting destinations around the world, tailgating at Tiger Stadium or helping Hobo Hotel for Cats, a no-kill shelter where Lauren is an active volunteer.
Community and civic minded, Dustin’s true passion is servant-leadership. He volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children, he is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership SWLA, and is an active board member of the Arts and Humanities Council of SWLA.
Benjamin Franklin once said: “When you’re finished changing, you’re finished.” And it is with his role model in mind that Dustin is committed to improving and giving back. So much so, that Dustin formed The Lake Charles Junto, a local club where participants engage in spirited debates on a variety of topics, including politics, morals, philosophy, and other issues of local and national interest.
